Housing Discrimination - Fair Housing


The Fair Housing Act protects people from discrimination when they are renting or purchasing a home, getting a mortgage, looking for housing assistance, or taking part in other housing-related activities.

The Fair Housing Act restricts discrimination in housing due to the fact that of:


- Race.

- Color.

- National Origin.

- Religion.

- Sex.

- Familial Status.

What Is Prohibited?


In the Sale and Rental of Housing:


It is illegal discrimination to take any of the following actions since of race, color, faith, sex, disability, familial status, or national origin:


- Refuse to rent or offer housing.
